DESCRIPTION
There are several species of pink phlox in the region. They have similarities and are hard for an amateur to distinguish. Some of the different species of pink Phlox are Mountain Phlox, (Phlox ovata); Downy Phlox, (Phlox pilosa), Carolina Phlox, (Phlox carolina); Phlox maculata, and others. Another prominent Phlox is the Blue Phlox, (Phlox divaricata) which is blue and blooms much earlier.
