DESCRIPTION

Oxeye Daisy is an erect perennial that grows to about 2 feet tall. The attractive flowers are made up of the white outer rays and the yellow inner disks. Although the plant is common, non-native and "weedy", it is attractive and often planted in gardens. This practice is controversial because Oxe-eye Daisy is considered a noxious weed and is actually illegal in some states. The use of native species with less invasive characteristics is recommended for garden use.

The Oxeye Daisy is a relative of the cultivated Chrysanthemum. The plant is very common along roadsides and open waste areas in May.
