Lizard's tail is a perennial plant that usually grows in swampy area or on the banks
of water bodies. The plant grows to about 3 feet high and has a flower head
in the form of a fluffy spike. Some of the flower heads droop or curve back
at the tip, giving the plant its common name "lizard's tail". The rhizomes can extend into water.
